Improvements to Income Tracker for 2015
Keep looking for our detailed reviews of product features in the new QuickBooks 2015 desktop products. In the mean time here is a summary of new features found in the Pro and Premier products your clients may soon be using.
Gain business insights on the new Home Page.
With the Insights tab for 2015 (See figure 1) you can get a comprehensive and easy to understand overview of your business right from the QuickBooks Home Page. If you look carefully you will see the similarities of this new page with the Home Page of QuickBooks Online. This enhanced home page provides insights into your company's performance at a glance. Instantly see your profit and loss, income and expenses and top customers.
- Always know how your business is doing with quick access to real time data without running reports.
- Customize your homepage with your company’s identity and information that is right for your business.
- Share key business data, like profit and loss, to get streamlined advice from your accountant and inform others.
- Intuit continues to develop similarities in the design and feature set between their desktop and on-line products.
Be more efficient with Enhanced Reports
Gain productivity and make better-informed decisions with improved reporting. Reports are easier to read with a refreshed clean design. Easily add comments in reports to give context to data and share insights. Now you can include multiple reports in an email for more efficient communication.
- Save time by sending multiple reports in a single email.
- Refreshed look and feel of reports makes them easier to read and understand (better row alignment and indentation). (See figure 2)
- Make reports easier to interpret using the new comments fields to capture report context, giving you the power to communicate and share insights. (See figure 3)
Collaborate more efficiently with your Accountant
There is a new streamlined way to send your Company file data to your accountant.
- Send portable company file: When you need to send a copy of your company file to your accountant, you can now save it on a shared folder directly from QuickBooks. (See figure 4) Set this folder as the default location and save time for future file sharing.
Additional improvements you’ve been asking for that make managing your books easier than ever:
- Instantly view important notes about your customers. You can now pin and view a prominent note on your customers, vendors and employees.
- View unbilled hours in the new “Time & Expenses” category on the colored bar of your Income Tracker and take immediate action. (See figure 5)
- Find all reminders and notifications in one single window (to-do, overdue items, system notifications, notes from accountants).
- Improved self help
I wrote this article based upon pre-release versions of QuickBooks Pro and Premier for 2015, so it is possible that some of the additions and enhancements I have described may be slightly different, or updated by the time QuickBooks 2015 is actually released.
You can be among the very first to receive instruction on the new features to be found in the 2015 QuickBooks product line, by participating in the Intuit QuickBooks Accounting Virtual Conference to be held on September 22 and 23, 2014. See the website for more information or register here.
Over the next couple of weeks Intuitive Accountant will be reviewing more of the new features, functions and enhancements in the various versions of QuickBooks-2015 in greater detail. In the mean time feel free to use the ‘comments section’ of this article to tell us about your own experiences with QuickBooks Pro or Premier for 2015.
