The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act established the Paycheck Protection Plan as an incentive for small businesses to retain employees during COVID-19. PPP loans can be forgiven in whole or in part if certain requirements are met. The PPP Flexibility Act became law on June 5, 2020 to loosen up some rules regarding forgiveness. For example, costs for forgiveness can be incurred over 24-weeks instead of 8-weeks.
