I did not realize it is small business week until I received an email this morning from the SBA. Happy Small Business Week. Do you know what Small Business Week is about? Me neither! Here's how it was defined on the About page on the SBA's National Small Business Week website said:
"Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owneres.
More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create two out of every three jobs in the U.S. each year.
As part of National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from all 50 states and U.S. territories. Every day, they're working to grow small businesses, create 21st century jobs, drive innovation, and increase America's global competitiveness."
As part of National Small Business Week the SBA is hosting web seminars all week on topics ranging from Crafting a Digital Footprint to Voluntary Benefits, to name a few. (See the website for details). In addition to these classes, the SBA will be hosting 5 live events (the first one is today) on financing your small business. These events will be video-streamed. Details of the events can be found here.
Since many of our audience members are small business owners and support small businesses, this is your week. Treat yourself something special and think about what you can do for your small biz clients to help them celebrate. Maybe it's attending today's 1:00 stream "How to find funding for your small business".
