One of the new products introduced by Sage Intacct during "Sage Transform 2022" was a new manufacturing solution. The introduction follows the release of Sage Intacct Manufacturing earlier this year in France and the UK. Sage has indicated the new product generally will be available to customers in the United States by mid-2023.
Sage Intacct Manufacturing & Distribution has been designed to meet the needs of mid-sized organizations seeking to drive business transformation, and that are wanting to modernize their manufacturing and distribution processes with a purpose-built solution.
Initially focused on the needs of mid-sized discrete manufacturers and general distributors, Sage intends to expand the product’s scope and capabilities over time to include additional manufacturing and distribution types.
Sage Intacct Manufacturing & Distribution provides a cloud native manufacturing and distribution solution that is simple to use, and easy to manage. An underlying principle of the new product was to “Keep It Simple.”
Distribution
Let’s take a first look at some of the features and capabilities of this new product, starting with distribution.
Sales and Distribution
Sage Intacct Manufacturing & Distribution allows you to effectively manage the entire sales cycle from receiving orders to shipping goods and managing returns quickly and easily.
You can manage each of the following aspects of the sales and distribution cycle:
- Items: sales attributes, customer specific rules and pricing
- Customers: overall customer management, referenced items, and pricing
- Orders: basic approval and pricing, multiple-address management
- Shipments: detailed allocation and stock issue
- Returns: return request with basic approval
- Receiving: receipt with detailed stock issue
- Accounts receivable: Customer invoices and credit memos
Purchase and Put-away
Users also can simplify internal communications when ordering materials from suppliers (vendors) with a guided and flexible process.
- Item: purchasing attributes, supplier specific rules and pricing
- Suppliers (vendors): overall supplier management, referenced items, pricing and certificates
- Requisition: basic approval process and supplier selection
- Orders: basic approval and pricing
- Receiving: receipt with detailed stock data tracking
- Returns: return request and shipment to the supplier
- Accounts Payable: supplier invoices and credit memos
Move and Store
Manage and maintain inventory across the full lifecycle.
- Receipt: miscellaneous receipt, purchase receipt
- Stock management: warehouse, zone and location management and stock adjustment
- Quality control: quality status tracking
- Shipment: detailed allocation, miscellaneous issue, sales shipments
- Stock control: detailed stock tracking, stock inquiry, stock journal inquiry
Manufacturing
Sage Intacct Manufacturing & Distribution allows users to manage both the design as well as the make and assemble functions of the production process.
Design
Accurately and efficiently design and manage items using both bill of materials and routings. Increase profitability by application of advanced cost controls.
- Item: inventory rules, industry attributes, standard or average costs per item or item/site
- Bill of materials: list of components with quantity and scrap factor, standard cost calculation
- Resource: individual or groups of resources including machine, labor and tools
- Routing: list of operations with set-up and run time plus the various resources required for each operation
- Cost control: calculation of material cost (bill of materials) process cost (routing), indirect costs and total cost (item) per item and site
Make and Assemble
Users can efficiently manage all aspects of making and assembling products, to efficiently use resources and manage costs.
- Work order planning: work order management, resource assignment, material exclusion or addition, planned cost.
- Work order tracking: production tracking, material tracking, time tracking, tracking inquiries, work order and work in progress inquiries
- Work order costing: WIP and actual work order cost calculation
Sage Intacct Manufacturing & Distribution will be available for early US adopters as of “Sage Transform 2022” (mid-October 2022).
