In previous versions of QuickBooks users were required to manually select the last month in a Year-to-Last Month analysis, and after manually selecting the date range, memorize the report for future use for the same static date. When a new period was needed for the reporting, the date range would have to be manually changed and the report re-memorized.
New for 2016 QuickBooks Desktop versions is a report filter that permits you to simply select "Fiscal Year-to-Last Month" for your financial reports. Because this is a generic date range, the setting works for the applicable period even when it is memorized in reports. This new 'filter' feature should save considerable time in preparing customized financial reports from your QuickBooks data.
This new report filter option is available in all versions of QuickBooks 2015 desktop software. You can access this new filter option from any report that permits you to filter for a specific date range.
