QuickBooks Online Q&A Panel - Stacy Kildal
Stacy Kildal, an Intuitive Accountant Top 100 and winner of the magazine's QBO Evangelist award, will be sharing a panel with Hector Garcia and Cathy Iconis during Intuit's QuickBooks Connect event in October. These panelists have built their businesses around QBO and are prepared to share their knowledge in what is sure to be an fun, informative and interesting panel.
One of the great opportunities available at QuickBooks Connect in San Jose, CA will be a QuickBooks Online (QBO) Q & A panel titled “Ask the Experts: QBO Small Firm” run by some of the best QBO consultants in the country including Stacy Kildal, Hector Garcia, and Cathy Iconis.
Stacy Kildal explains that this is a panel where “practitioners of different sizes through different QuickBooks consulting firms will be talking about how we run our practices, best practices and how we incorporate QuickBooks Online into our practice.” Attendees who are new to QBO or who have been using it already in their business as well as anybody that has bookkeeping experience, or who is a QuickBooks consultant or an accounting professional will benefit from this panel:
- By being able to get solutions to their most troubling QBO problems
- By learning how incorporating QBO in your practice can help make it easier to work with your clients
- By learning the challenges and benefits of using QBO to grow your business
- By learning the challenges and successes these consultants have had when using QBO in their businesses
Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor Stacy Kildal is one of the speakers on this panel. She is most known for her ability to reach an estimated 100,000 QuickBooks users through her writing for QuickBooks and Beyond, Intuit Accountant’s News Central, StacyK.net, IntuitiveAccountant.com, and CPA Practice Advisor. In addition to her writing she is also co-host of The QB Show (formerly Radio Free QuickBooks). Stacy self-started her own business Kildal Services LLC and has worked as a QuickBooks Online expert for the last ten years helping train clients on QuickBooks, while also answering their questions.
When asked how she got to where she is today, Stacy said, “At first I was going to be a pharmacist, but then I took my first accounting class at a local community college and I started doing the extra homework (laughs). I was also already helping my dad with the books for his business so I knew right away that this was for me. So I scrapped my idea of becoming a pharmacist and started pursuing accounting.” Stacy then went on to apply for bookkeeping jobs, but said that she moved quickly from job to job because “I was always looking for a job that gave me more experience, more responsibility, and more pay.” This determination to find better ways to use and share her knowledge was what helped her find and join the ProAdvisor program.
“It literally changed my life,” Stacy said. She had become good with QuickBooks by first using it and learning how to understand it in her bookkeeping job of 6 years, but the ProAdvisor program helped her become an expert. She said, “Because I got certified in QuickBooks and got listed on the Find a ProAdvisor website, this gave me a little bit of credibility and showed my clients that I knew what I was doing.” The program also helped her start her own business by giving her new leads that allowed her to branch out on her own. She said, “While I was working fulltime as a bookkeeper, I got a couple of clients, and within a year of joining the ProAdvisor program I started my own business.” The ProAdviser program also gave her the encouragement that she needed to apply for the Intuit Trainer/Writer Network, which made her gain even more clients than before, and led her to become a name in consulting. This then resulted in her being named as one of Intuitive Accountant’s Top 100 ProAdvisors and Intuitive Accountant’s QuickBooks Online Evangelist for 2014, as well as one of CPA Practice Advisor’s Most Powerful Women in Accounting in 2012 and one of the Accounting Industry’s 40 Under 40 in 2013 by the same magazine.
Stacy’s story of how she worked her way up to starting her own business is encouraging and just a glimpse of the knowledge and experience she’ll be sharing during the QuickBooks Connect panel.
