When you first access the QuickBooks Shipping Manager and select FedEx you will be prompted to set up the service. You must accept the End-user License Agreement by choosing I Agree to the terms and conditions when the end-user license agreement appears.

You also need to enter (or confirm) your Shipping Details. If you accessed Shipping Manager from an Invoice or a Sales Receipt, much of the information you need is posted from those transactions.

Shipping Manager will display your shipment details including tracking number and cost. You can select an option to have Shipping Manager post these details to your transaction.

Shipping Manager can post your FedEx shipment details; however, even though the price is displayed in a description area of the form, you will still need to enter a 'shipping item' and price if they are to be included in the total of your transaction.

Shipping Manager is already built into your QuickBooks software and it’s FREE to use. You only pay FedEx charges on what you ship. And you can sign up for Shipping Manager through your QuickBooks software and start using it right away.
With QuickBooks Shipping Manager you can process a shipment and prepare a shipping label with the "ship to" information prefilled directly from either the Create Invoices or Enter Sales Receipts windows. You can also track shipments within QuickBooks.
To use the Shipping Manager (See the attached slideshow for illustrations of the steps below.) :
- Choose File > Shipping. Then click Ship FedEx Package, (Slide 1)
- From either the Create Invoices or Enter Sales Receipts window:
- Click the Send/Ship tab. (Slide 2)
- Click the FedEx drop-down arrow and select Ship FedEx Package.
Follow the onscreen instructions to set up the service. If you don't have an existing FedEx, UPS, or USPS account number, you can open an account from within the Shipping Manager.
Once you have completed the setup process, you can find out more about shipping forms and options by clicking the Help button inside the Shipping Manager.
When you first access the QuickBooks Shipping Manager and select FedEx, you will be prompted to set up the service. A setup wizard will walk you through the following steps:
- Accept the End-user License Agreement – Read and choose “I Agree to the terms and conditions” when the end-user license agreement appears. (Slide 3)
- Enter “Ship From” address information – you only need to input this information now, the Shipping Manager will then store it for future use. (Slide 4)
- Enter FedEx Account Number – you can contact FedEx account number if you do not already have an account.
- Select your Shipping Label Printer – you need to select a default printer where your shipping labels will be printed.
Once you have finished these steps, you are done, the Shipping Manager will launch ready for you to create your first shipment.
The Shipping Manager allows you to create a FedEx label using the following steps:
- Select a FedEx Service – the shipping manager allows you to select the type of FedEx service you need, FedEx Express or FedEx Ground.
- Enter your Shipping Details, if you chose to access Shipping Manager from an Invoice or a Sales Receipt, much of the information you need will be populated from those records. (Slide 5)
- Click the “Estimate Cost” link to check your rate before creating the label.
- Print your FedEx Label – the label is created and sent to your laser or thermal printer. (Slide 6)
- You can copy the shipping tracking number and shipping costs directly to your Invoice or Sales Receipt by clicking the “Paste to Form” check-box that appears in the Shipment Confirmation window. (Slide 7) Even though this information is posted a a description line in your transaction, you will need to post a 'shipping' item and amount if the cost should be included on your invoice total.
