This session at QuickBooks Connect could be called Saving Time and Getting Your Work
Done Easier with QuickBooks Premier Accountant: “QuickBooks at Year End” with Karen Siewert, but that is too long of a title, so "QuickBooks at Year End" will have to suffice.
When you think of going to an accounting session, the last thing that comes to mind is that
you’re going to be entertained, but that’s exactly what you get right from the start from Karen Siewert. She said, “When you go to a conference you want to be entertained so that’s what I
try to bring to my sessions. I dress up in costumes related to what I’m teaching and bring in props and both of these things boost moral and help the concepts I’m teaching come across more clearly. So they’re enjoying themselves, while learning very useful information.” For QuickBooks Connect, Karen will teaching “QuickBooks at Year End” to which she said, “So for QuickBooks Connect I have to come up with something new. The session is for small business owners, accounting professionals, and CPAs. Tthe small business owner may really not understand how connected QuickBooks is and the accountant needs to know how many tools they have at their fingertips so the dress code for myself will have to embellish on both of those. So it’s trying to bring that kind of style of fun and understanding into the class.”
Aside from being a great entertainer, Karen Siewert has 17 years of specialized training in the use of QuickBooks and 40 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience; holds certifications in QuickBooks Points of Sale, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions, QuickBooks Online, and the Advanced Certification for QuickBooks; and is a member of the Intuit
Accountant Trainer/Writer Network. She is also the owner of her own practice The CertifiedQB Group, LLC, and a member of Intuit’s Premier Reseller Program where, according to her website certifiedqb.com, she provides “professional QuickBooks consulting, training, setup and support solutions for small to large businesses” and sells “QuickBooks Point of Sale supplies, software, hardware, checks, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions, and current add on technology.” She said, “I also update them on the latest and greatest so that they understand how they can work faster with the new enhancements to the latest software, and that’s sort of what I’ll be teaching attendees about in my upcoming session.”
The “QuickBooks at Year End” session is for small business owners and accounting professionals who are keeping up with the latest tools in QuickBooks or for small business owners who have grown their business and want more functionality. This session will focus on:
- the QuickBooks Premier Accountant software
- what it can do
- why you should make the upgrade from QuickBooks Premier to QuickBooks Premier Accountant
Karen said, “For people that have not upgraded and who are new to the business or new to QuickBooks, coming to this class will allow them to understand that there are time-saving tools in this software that will streamline their year-end processes, make sure they’re getting more accurate reports, and clean up their files better and faster.”
This session is beneficial for both accounting professionals and small business owners for different reasons. Accounting professionals will benefit by being shown and learning how the tools available in QuickBooks Premier Accountant will save them time and help them do more. Karen said, “There are so many tools that it’s an eye-opening experience.” Small business owners will benefit from learning about this software and the tools that are available because it’ll help them either 1) clean up their books better without paying the expense of having someone outside of the firm do it or 2) explain the software to their accountant and get them to start using it.
This session will also be useful for CPAs to attend because keeping up with the latest and greatest QuickBooks software is important for their relationship with their clients. Karen said, “It can be embarrassing for a CPA to have their clients say ‘Did you know you could do this in the QuickBooks Premier Accountant program?’ and them not have it. If a CPA wants nothing to do with QuickBooks or doesn’t know enough about QuickBooks for their clients then there’s a high chance that the clients will seek out a different CPA with that knowledge.” So for a CPA, keeping up to date and learning what QuickBooks Premier Accountant can do will help them keep their clients.
This session is really about is helping you work faster and easier by upgrading to QuickBooks Premier Accountant and people that attend this session will not only see why that’s important, but will also see how easy making the upgrade is and how their businesses will be better for it. While, at the same time, also getting an inside look at the software and all the tools available and being shown all this information in an entertaining and memorable way.
