We have officially moved "into the window" of Scaling New Heights. The show officially kicks off in 1 month. As we get closer to the event, our "Road to Scaling New Heights" articles will be more frequent as we attempt to cover most, if not all, sessions.
Today we connected with Damien Greathead, COO of 2020 Group USA, a training and consulting firm for accounting professionals.
IA: What does 2020 Group USA do?
DG: We help small and medium sized accounting firms grow! We work with accountants to help them identify new and profitable income streams, how to better market their services and advise them on the most effective practice management techniques.
IA: Who do you serve?
DG: We serve small and medium sized accounting firms – otherwise known as the silent majority.
IA: What will you be teaching and why should an attendee choose your sessions?
DG: By attending the 2020 Practice Development track attendees will learn what the most successful firms around the world are doing to:
Attract new clients
Differentiate themselves from the competition
Identify new services to better serve their clients
Attract and retain the best people
And much more.
Attendees who are serious about growing their firm and creating a business that is profitable, has great clients and staff, and is fun, should plan to attend the 2020 Practice Development tack at the show.
IA: You and Chris are professional speakers, so I know you will not be selling in your track, but will participants learn the advantages and benefits of being a part of your organization during this session?
DG: Absolutely. They’ll see the benefits of being a part of a national membership organization where all the members are high performers who want to enact change in their businesses. We don’t want our members to re-invent the wheel or make the same mistakes as practitioners before them. We’re also able to help our members really focus on their core competencies.
IA: What would be the ideal profile for someone attending your session?
DG: We have a number of sessions in the Practice Development Track. They’re really designed for accounting firm owners and senior managers who want their firm to be the best. Ideally an attendee will have the support back in the office to get things done. Our sessions focus on the key areas of running a successful accounting practice regardless of customers or niches served.
IA: Trade shows are a big investment for vendors and attendees alike. What do you hope to gain from the investment you’ve made in being and exhibitor and a speaker at SNH?
DG: A big goal for us is to say g’day to a lot of our members who already attend Scaling New Heights, hopefully meet some new ones, but also get around and learn from the other experts and industry leaders
IA: What are the 3 most important take aways a ProAdvisor will receive from your session?
DG: ProAdvisors who attend our track/sessions will learn :
1. What metrics they need to monitor in their firm.
2. How to successfully market an accounting firm
3. The importance of thinking strategically about their business, not just working in it.
IA: Are you looking to connect with ProAdvisors from any particular part of the country?
2020 is nationwide and international, so we’d love to meet ProAdvisors from all over. Drop by and say hi.
If you need to work on your business strategy, want to learn what others are doing successfully and walk away with some action items to improve your business, you should take a look at this track at the event.
