Each year, I and my team at Woodard Events exert a tremendous amount of effort, energy, and intention into the training we offer at our upcoming "Scaling New Heights" conference.
We custom engineer more than 60 percent of the training for each year’s conference, guided by our powerful vision to “transform small business through small business advisors.”
We combine that vision with the purpose statement that we use as a measure for each program, each training event, each task we perform at the company: “We empower small business advisors.”
When designing the training for "Scaling New Heights 2017," June 4-7, in Orlando, Fla., we considered the daunting challenges accountants currently face. The high-pressure demands of our clients are amplified by rapidly shifting financial and legal landscapes, unprecedented levels of technology disruption, and the increasingly competitive pressures of a crowded and largely commoditized profession.
It is not an easy – or safe – time to be an accountant or bookkeeper.
So, we created a fitting (and whimsical) theme that refers to these daunting challenges as “Yetis” and empowers each accountant to boldly “face these yetis.”
To muster a bold response to such a daunting obstacle, accountants and bookkeepers must exercise unprecedented levels of courage – forging new ground and, as we would put it, “scaling new heights” regardless of how steep the climb, daunting the risk or pervasive the fear of failure.
Beyond courage, this type of climb requires the right set of tools, practical education, peer accountability and coaching, where the latter is offered by those who have scaled the heights and lived to tell the tale.
You will find each of these at Scaling New Heights 2017.
During this editorial series in Insightful Accountant, our training team will drill down on the specific “Yetis” accountants face and how the training at this year’s conference will equip you to face those “Yetis.”
Then, some of our best instructors will share a few of the insights they'll cover in their breakout session and main stage presentations.
We hope you enjoy the series. We encourage you to attend the conference coming up this June and, as always, we challenge you to Scale New Heights.
