Joe Woodard, CEO of Woodard Events, reached out to Insightful Accountant this morning asking us to share some updates on the venue since we interviewed him on Wednesday.
From Joe Woodard:
Though Woodard Events initially reserved space at the Cobb Galleria Centre and though contracts were pending, the Cobb Galleria Centre has withdrawn its bid for the show. Though they did not state specific reasons for this withdrawal, Woodard Events assumes it is related to perceived risks related to Woodard's Chapter 11 filing.
In response, Woodard Events is offering the Cobb Galleria Centre a payment of 100% of their quoted fee up front to alleviate their concerns. "We believe the Cobb Galleria is a great place to hold Scaling New Heights and of course we want to avoid any further shifts in conference venue," says Joe Woodard, CEO of Woodard Events. "But, in the unlikely event this up front payment doesn't alleviate their concerns, we are confident one of the other regional convention centers in the Atlanta area will work with us through an offer of payment in full up front. Given the situation with the Chapter 11 filing, we will be offering the same terms to all of our conference vendors as well."
Joe Woodard, CEO of Woodard Events, will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.
