I’m the one that does The QB Show. So that should be it, right?
Not really. There’s a bit more to it than that! I’ve been called the QBO Queen and the QBO Godmother, but my goal, ultimately, is Supreme Global Empress. At this point in time, I believe I’m going to have a run for my money from my 5 year old son. He seems to think the entire universe revolves around him…
First, my family. I have two amazing kids (but we all say that about our kids, right?) – my daughter Kira is 12, gets great grades, and is quite possibly one of the most funny human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Which is good, because when I was pregnant with her, I was never worried about the normal things most pregnant chicks worry about – having a healthy kid – I distinctly remember asking my mom: “What am I going to do if this kid isn’t FUNNY??”
As I mentioned, my 5 year old, Arik, seems to believe that we’re all here to serve him. I take a special delight in schooling him in the fact we are not. He’s also pretty bright, cracks me up every day, is super snuggly and his best friend EVAR is our orange cat, Yoda. I swear, it’s a love affair for the ages, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a made for TV movie about all the adventures they’ll partake in, once Arik learns to read.
I met my husband Kevin at a church fair in the summer of 1988. We rode the Ferris wheel together that night and have been pretty much best friends ever since. We didn’t actually start dating until 10 years later, when I was 22 and he was 23, but I’m pretty sure we both new we’d marry each other before we graduated high school. (We even have one of those super awesome stories about how we ended up dating, so maybe ask me about it the next time you see me).
They’re the ones that put up with me, prop me up when I need a little help, and make my heart just about burst with joy every time I think about them.
Both of my best friends are CPAs, Kerri Kutlenios and Dawn Brolin, and I love both of them as much as my sisters and brother.
I also like to ride my bike and read just about any book I can get my paws on.
I grew up in Michigan, but I prefer to call it The Enchanted Mitten. (If that makes no sense, grab a map). I’m the youngest of 5 (6 if you include my half siblings’ half sister on their mom’s side). Frankly, I was totally spoiled – I had a pony at 4, my own snowmobile at 8, a car when I was sixteen and my own bathroom – but I watched my dad work hard to give us everything and I learned extremely valuable lessons about work ethic, integrity and responsibility from him.
I took dance lessons for 20 years and still have tap shoes. I met Ozzy Osborne when I was 17, the summer after I graduated, and while my two favorite bands are Tool and Rush, my two favorite playlists on my phone may or may not include A LOT of Little River Band and/or Lady Gaga.
