In a ceremony later today, President Trump is expected to sign the $484-Billion Coronavirus Relief Bill passed by both the Senate and House this week. The Bill provides $320-Billion in extended funding to the Paycheck Protection Program for the Small Business Administration. It also provides $60-Billion in loans and grants under other Economic Injury Disaster Loans administered via SBA including relief for farmers and ranchers.
The Bill provides $75-Billion for aid to hospitals, mostly in rural areas which were heavily impacted by requirements to eliminate 'elective surgeries' during the crisis, and $25-Billion for expanded COVID-19 related testing.
The SBA has said that it could take a week to 10-days to promulgate the new rules relative to the extended programs once the Bill is enacted and funds are authorized from the Treasury before loans begin being authorized again.
