Intuit has announced its intention to discontinue QuickBooks Payments in the United Kingdom on September 28, 2016 based upon the fact that the product has not delivered as it should. A spokesperson for Intuit told Insightful Accountant, "We strive to meet and exceed the needs of our customers and based on customer feedback we know QuickBooks Payments in the United Kingdom has not always delivered for its customers. That's why we made the difficult decision to pause our offering in the UK until we have the best possible payment solution available."
This decision and action DO NOT impact other locations outside the United Kingdom.
Intuit is taking QuickBooks Payments (UK) down while it develops an alternative that will include better integration features. "While Intuit works on the improved solution to automate QuickBooks payments in the UK, one recommendation Intuit is communicating is to sign up for a PayPal business account."
Inuit will close all United Kingdom accounts and it will not be possible for United Kingdom QuickBooks Users to accept payments after September 27, 2016. United Kingdom Merchants need to download their transaction histories or lose them, and if unpaid invoices exist it will be up to merchants to get their customers to pay by 27 September 2016, since it will not be possible to accept payments through QuickBooks, including any scheduled recurring transactions set up in QuickBooks after September 28th.
Once again, this action does not impact locations outside the United Kingdom.
