Sage Intacct has issued its "2022 Nonprofit Technology Trends Report." The white paper, which provides unique comparisons between key nonprofit metrics from pre-, mid- and current-pandemic markets, is based on interviews with more than 900 non-profit finance leaders.
Key findings include:
- Increased revenue — 44% reported an increase in revenue in 2021, with an additional 20% reporting flat revenue.
- A need for more financial transparency — “Cost transparency metrics” (i.e., cost per meal served, cost per patient seen, etc.) that tie a non-profit’s mission to financial metrics can tell a powerful story of actual impact for donors. Yet only 21% track and share these metrics.
- Involving finance in the impact story — 77% indicated their finance team is involved in telling their impact story, up from 74% last year and 64% in the 2020 report. The steady increase of finance’s involvement shows the increased importance placed on tying financials to mission impact.
