There are a few things you need to know about Katherine E. Wynne-Jones, the founder and CEO of Wynne-Jones & Associates LLC. For starters, for the past 30-plus years, she has served the accounting and QuickBooks needs of hundreds of small businesses in the Detroit Metro Tri-County and southeast Michigan.
To note, she also has earned more Certifications in Point of Sale Desktop than anyone in the state.
Take a quick rundown of the services she provides her clients, and you will see why her reputation is among the best in her profession: She supports all versions of QuickBooks financial and point-of-sale software on-site or remotely via the internet. She specializes in on-site QuickBooks installation, account set-up/integration, training and troubleshooting. In addition, Wynne-Jones performs monthly, quarterly and/or yearly financial reviews, which enables her clients to provide their CPA with accurate numbers for tax planning and preparing their income tax return.
Prior to starting Wynne-Jones & Associates, LLC, Katherine held accounting positions at Diamond Crystal Salt Company, Schlegel Corporation and St. John Hospital.
We sat down with Christy to get her thoughts on where the industry is heading:
Give us a snapshot of today's accounting landscape. What are you seeing out there?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly easier to use and placing a greater role in our day-to-day quality of life through the variety of devices being used today. These advanced technologies are eliminating services provided, or at the very least, changing the way we do business.
While AI is helping our clients easily adapt to QuickBooks, there are many self-taught QuickBooks users requesting data file clean up and training. There has also been an increase in the demand for third party applications. Such as, TSheets, Bill.com, Receipt Bank, Hubdoc, etc.
What was the biggest surprise you saw in 2016?
The number of clients who desire QuickBooks desktop hosted in the cloud. It is becoming more cost conducive to run the software in a hosted network environment rather than upgrade and maintain a server in a local environment.
What is the biggest item on your to-do list for 2017?
To continue to grow the Wynne-Jones & Associates Partnering Program with like-minded professionals for sales, consulting and bookkeeping
What are three areas that every accountant should keep an eye on next year?
Understanding cloud based apps that integrate with QuickBooks, partnering with QuickBooks Premier Resellers and ProAdvisors, and developing relationships with other accountants specializing in niche markets.
What goals have you set for 2017?
Redesigning our website, utilizing and becoming certified in three new third-party applications, and building the Wynne-Jones & Associates mobile app
