Recently, Intuit’s ProAdvisor program was reimagined to deliver additional value to accountant partners through refreshed points and benefits. Intuit is now taking the transformation a step further by reimagining the ProAdvisor certification journey from end to end. The all new ProAdvisor Academy just launched in October 2024, and now delivers contextual, engaging, and career-spanning learning pathways for ProAdvisors to deepen their expertise, enrich client service, and drive measurable impact with their firms.
While QuickBooks Certifications have long been a badge of honor and expertise in the accounting profession, the courses were long, and the learning often focused on “where to click” without delving into the hows and whys of an accountant’s workflow.
In reimagining the existing certification program into a full-fledged Academy, not only have long and confusing courses been replaced with shorter, more modern, more engaging modules—the entire experience has been rethought from the ground up.
Each module now approaches learning both through the lens of your day-to-day workflows, as well as with an eye toward delivering on your broader career and business goals. ProAdvisor Academy presents a holistic approach to the entire QuickBooks ecosystem, empowering professionals to increase client value through light-touch advisory services, while providing foundational bookkeeping knowledge, expert-level deep dives into complex accounting topics, and a suite of tools and on-demand resources to keep you informed and at the top of your game.
And of course, points, tiers, and CPE credits have been improved, and Intuit continues to offer attractive incentives to help expand services, build your client roster, and drive growth at your firm.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the most exciting new features.
Launching your career with the new Intuit Bookkeeping Certification
The new ProAdvisor Academy learning journey begins from the day an accounting professional starts their career. Previously, entry-level accounting professionals had to learn the product without being taught the fundamental accounting principles behind it. That’s no longer the case. The all-new Intuit Bookkeeping Certification is a free, self-paced program that teaches foundational accounting concepts and guides learners through the phases of the accounting cycle, bridging the gap for non-traditional hires and those transitioning into accounting from other career paths.
Elevating your product expertise with the reimagined QuickBooks Online Certifications
We have reimagined our QuickBooks Online certification programs so that the learning is hands-on, engaging, and specific to your workflows as an accounting professional.
The Level 1 certification is ideal if you’re new to QuickBooks Online, and teaches how you can leverage the platform to deliver end-to-end accounting workflows while exploring how you can deliver ‘light touch advisory to clients.’
The curriculum is made up of 5 distinct courses, which follow the flow of data through QuickBooks Online, and include: Getting Started, Sales and Customers, Expenses and Vendors, Banking, and Period End.
This targeted and intentional approach to the curriculum enabled Intuit to streamline the program from 16 hours down to 8 hours time-in-seat.
The Level 2 certification, (formerly ‘Advanced’), builds on Level 1 and dives into the more sophisticated tools and features within QuickBooks online while taking advisory insights a step further.
Growing your career and firm through tailored learning
In addition to reimagined certifications, ProAdvisor Academy has been expanded to include a-la-carte, on-demand resources as well as standalone training modules, helping you to stay up-to-date and in the know while allowing you to quickly upskill in high-demand practice areas. Plus, ‘specialty’ certifications such as QuickBooks Payroll Certification can help you develop new skill sets to deliver the services your clients need.
Building with the future in mind.
Overall, the fully revamped Academy isn’t just a few new courses or extra perks. It’s an entirely new approach that speaks to the daily workflows, goals, and learning needs of ProAdvisors at every stage of their careers.
And this launch is only the beginning. As ProAdvisor Academy continues to grow, Intuit will be looking to build a more robust experience for firm managers and leaders to upskill their teams, engage and retain top talent, and improve client service across the board.
