2018 top top canadian bookkeeping
The 2018 Top Ten Canadian Bookkeeping Influencers in the Canadian Bookkeeping World were honoured at this year’s Get Connected Calgary. As proud sponsors of this award, K2E Canada Inc. and Intuit® Canada were excited to see who was recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Canadian bookkeeping community.
The creator of the award, Alan Salmon, felt that recognition of influencers in the Canadian bookkeeping world was overdue. Though he was unable to attend the presentation in person, the founder of K2E Canada Inc. prepared a video message where he shared his journey leading up to this event. He said the 21 finalists – from which the top ten were selected – were amazing and that they “represent all that is so great about the Canadian bookkeeping profession.”
An independent panel of judges selected the Top 10 based on the Influencer’s:
- Contributions to the success of others in the Canadian bookkeeping profession.
- Efforts which have impacted the continuing evolution of the profession.
- Direct or indirect contributions to the prosperity of Canadian small business.
- Status as a thought leader in the bookkeeping community.
- Creation of innovative new products or services that enhance the work of bookkeepers.
- Efforts to help raise the standards of Canadian bookkeepers through education.
Colin Ellis, managing editor of Canadian Accountant and one of the judges, in announcing the winners, stated, “You are mentors, connectors, early adopters, role models and thought leaders, but most of all, you are influencers. Trusted voices recognized by your peers as the people and the professionals they watch, they follow, they emulate and they listen to you.”
