Maybe it is a sign of the 'good economy' and everybody has been out shopping for the holidays, too busy to think about Top100/ProAdvisor of the Year Nominations. Or maybe the abundance of QuickBooks training right after the opening of our nomination period including QuickBooks Connect Canada, the QBO Bootcamp and Scaling New Heights Live not to mention a half-dozen webinars all occupied your time. The net result is that nominations are down thus far (over the historical average for the number of days into the process) this year which means that some of you have either failed to nominate yourself, or someone has failed to nominate you.
Remember you ONLY have until January 11, 2019 at 11:59pm PT to insure that you are among the nominees being considered in the next step of the process for the 2019 ProAdvisor of the Year and Top 100 ProAdvisors Awards.
I know what you are thinking, "January 11 is a long time off, 'New Year's Eve' isn't even here yet!" That is my point exactly. We have another holiday arriving very quickly, New Years, and I realize as accountants, bookkeepers and ProAdvisors there is a lot to do between now and years' end, but just the moment the year ends there is a ton of work to get done to meet the deadlines that come due thanks to Uncle Sam. If I don't remind you now to nominate yourself, or that someone special (and who is more special than 'you'), you may find that you don't have time to nominate anyone.
You don't want to get caught asking why your name isn't on the list, why someone else forgot to nominate you, or why you forgot to turn in your self-nomination.
What are you waiting for? If you want to be considered nominate yourself. Even if someone else does in fact nominate you, your self-nomination may actually help the process because each year we get a few nominations from '3rd-parties' where the identification information is wrong; someone lists the nominee as middle name instead of last name, or last name instead of first name, or gives us a wrong address, or email account. Surely if you submit your own 'nomination' you won't make such errors (I would hope not, at least).
Remember you ONLY have until January 11, 2019 at 11:59pm PT to insure that you are among the nominees being considered in the next step of the process for the 2019 ProAdvisor of the Year and Top 100 ProAdvisors Awards. If your name is not in the nominations submitted, there is not a 'chance in infinity' that you can win.
