This article is one in a series of 'help guides' for 2025 ProAdvisor Award applicants. As promised in my article on Tuesday of this week, this article deals exclusively with requirements for the International ProAdvisor Awards Only. This past Tuesday's article addressed the same topics but only for the U.S. ProAdvisor Awards.
Similar to the minimum criteria for the U.S. ProAdvisor Awards, the International ProAdvisors have two requirements, 'Active Client Practice' and 'Current Certifications.' However, the two award sets (U.S. and International) differ in how applicants can meet these requirements.
Active Client Practice
For the 2025 Awards, International participants must have an active client practice as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor or QuickBooks Professional in their country of residence. They may not be residents of the United States (or a U.S. territorial possession).
Regardless of their country of residence (or practice), they must have an active QuickBooks practice involving one or more clients using QuickBooks (Online or Desktop). QuickBooks versions vary from Intuit Region or Country; the 'QuickBooks Global' (online) version is available in many locations where 'Country-specific versions' are unavailable.
As part of their formal application, applicants must advise us how many clients they actively support in their QuickBooks practice and the appropriate Intuit Country or Region of their QuickBooks practice.
The question in which applicants provide the above information is illustrated below.

Current Certification(s)
Unlike the U.S. application form, international applicants must complete an extra step before they submit their certification information. International candidates must report whether they reside in the 'Western Hemisphere' or the 'Eastern Hemisphere' to help us identify various questions applicable to the Intuit Regions or Countries within those hemispheres.
Candidates make their hemisphere selection referencing a map of the globe that defines the countries in each hemisphere (as seen in the image below). Suppose most of a country lies within a hemisphere on the map. Regarding the 2025 International ProAdvisor Awards, "all of the country" lies in that hemisphere for categorization.
Once you have answered this question, the exam opens the rest of the page with the appropriate question and question characteristics appropriate for your certification verification.
Once an applicant has selected the hemisphere where they reside, the application form posts the appropriate certification offerings for that hemisphere so that the applicant may provide their certification information (as shown below).
International ProAdvisor applicants must hold Intuit ProAdvisor status or the equivalent* for their country or a country within their Intuit Global Region. Alternatively, International ProAdvisors can possess a certification from any country where Intuit issues such certification, including the United States; however, a U.S. certification does not qualify an International ProAdvisor (by residence) to participate in the U.S. ProAdvisor Awards (limited to U.S. residents only).
Applicants must report the 'Date' of their QuickBooks-related Certification(s). For the 2025 Awards, a certification must have been issued or re-issued (through a re-certification process) not earlier than November 1, 2023. Applicants must also report the Intuit Country or Intuit Region issuing such certification(s). Not all Intuit Countries or Regions issue the same certifications*.
For purposes of these awards, an applicant may hold a QuickBooks Online (Core) ProAdvisor certification, a QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor Certification, or a QuickBooks Online (Global) Accountant Certification, depending upon the Intuit Country or Intuit Region in which they reside*.
Applicants must upload a PDF of their 'most current' certification to document and validate their certificate.
Applicants can not continue the process until they have provided their certification date(s) and, issuing QuickBooks Country/Region, and uploaded a PDF of their most current certification. Applicants may select the 'Save and Continue' option to save their information reported before the certification page so they can complete training, obtain certification, and then return to their application to provide certification information; however, such information must be reported before the application deadline.

* - Country equivalency is based upon the offerings Intuit makes available to accountants, bookkeepers, and business advisors within each country or Intuit Region. For example, in a country like South Africa, even though Accountants can sign up to become ProAdvisors to access QBO-Accountant, it doesn't offer (at the time this disclosure was written) QuickBooks' ProAdvisor Certification' but does offer QuickBooks Online Accountant Certification and various supporting courses.
