Since their inception in 2014, Insightful Accountant has been the awarding entity and administrator for the ProAdvisor Awards Program, which recognizes the best QuickBooks ProAdvisors® worldwide*.
Applicants for these prestigious programs are ranked based on their performance across various criteria measuring everything from QuickBooks® knowledge to utilizing the best tools & partner apps within the QuickBooks ecosystem that contribute to solid practice growth.
Over the years, thousands of ProAdvisors have been nominated for and participated in the Insightful Accountant ProAdvisor Awards. Initially, one set of awards recognized the Top 100 ProAdvisors, both U.S. and International.
The program was expanded to recognize the Top 100 U.S. ProAdvisors, the Top 25 Up-n-coming ProAdvisors, and the Top 50 International ProAdvisors.
In addition to these awards, the (U.S.) ProAdvisor of the Year, the International ProAdvisor of the Year, and the Up-n-coming ProAdvisor of the Year are recognized.
The Awards process is now nearly a year-round process as of 2025; this provides greater opportunity for ProAdvisors worldwide to apply or be nominated by a third party. A new application process allowing applicants to open and close their application forms without completing them means that ProAdvisors can post their new training opportunities and certifications to their official application form throughout the period rather than being required to complete the form in just one or two sittings.
In prior years, a majority of ProAdvisors nominated themselves, but that was just an extra step. For 2025, ProAdvisors can go directly to the formal application without being required to nominate themselves.
But that doesn't stop anyone wanting to nominate their favorite ProAdvisor, from anywhere around the Globe, to do so (using the the following process). All ProAdvisors nominated by a third party receive an email providing them with the name of the nominating party along with details on how to apply.
Nominating a ProAdvisor
The 2025 Nomination Form is intended for those individuals wishing to nominate a ProAdvisor (other than themselves). The nominee can be from anywhere around the world.
Nominators provide their contact information, so the ProAdvisor is advised who nominated them, and the contact information of the ProAdvisor, including the ProAdvisor’s email by which they will be notified of the nomination. The application is two short pages, asking for contact information and a few yes-no-styled questions.
Insightful Accountant will accept nominations from third parties wishing to nominate their favorite ProAdvisor through November 19, 2024, at 11:59:59 PM Pacific Time.
U.S. ProAdvisor Applicants
The official 2025 Application Form evaluates ProAdvisors based on categorical standards for the Top 100 ProAdvisors, the ProAdvisor Categorical awards (QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Educator, CAAS ProAdvisor, etc.), the Top 25 Up-n-coming ProAdvisors and the (U.S.) ProAdvisor of the Year.
As of 2025, the U.S. ProAdvisor awards are open only to ProAdvisors residing in the United States of America (or its territories). ProAdvisors outside the U.S. (or its territories) are ineligible even when holding U.S. ProAdvisor Certification.
U.S. ProAdvisor applicants must actively practice as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor® and, in so doing, support or provide services to one or more actual clients using QuickBooks® (Desktop, Online, or Ledger).
U.S. ProAdvisor applicants must also hold at least one of the following three Intuit (U.S.) ProAdvisor Certifications: QuickBooks Online (Core), QuickBooks Online (Advanced) or QuickBooks Desktop. Such certifications must have been issued on or after November 1, 2023. Recertification since 11/1/2023 also qualifies.
Applicants can complete their formal application on a come-and-go basis, allowing them to enter training, certifications (and more) as earned until the application close date of February 11, 2025.
International ProAdvisor Applicants
ProAdvisors outside the United States can apply for the International ProAdvisor Awards regardless of their country of residence. International ProAdvisors must reside in a country other than the United States of America (or its territories), even if they hold a U.S. ProAdvisor certification.
The official 2025 International ProAdvisor Application Form evaluates ProAdvisors based on Intuit regionalized standards to select the Top 50 International ProAdvisors and the International ProAdvisor of the Year.
To qualify for these awards, International ProAdvisor applicants must actively practice as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor® or QuickBooks Professional and support or provide services to one or more clients using QuickBooks®.
International ProAdvisor applicants must also hold Intuit ProAdvisor status or the equivalent for their country or a country within their Intuit Region. Such equivalent certification may include, but not be limited to, the QuickBooks Online (Global) Accountant Certification. Alternatively, International ProAdvisors can possess a certification from any country where Intuit issues such certification, including the United States; however, a U.S. certification does not qualify an International ProAdvisor (by residence) to participate in the U.S. ProAdvisor Awards (limited to U.S. residents only).
Applicants can complete their formal application on a come-and-go basis, allowing them to enter training, certifications (and more) as earned until the application close date of February 11, 2025.
After the 2025 Applications Close
Whether a U.S. ProAdvisor or an International ProAdvisor applicant, the voting process contributing to an applicant’s overall score will begin shortly after the applications close on February 11, 2025.
Insightful Accountant will advise participants and the ProAdvisor community about the voting dates well before the voting period begins.
* - Intuit QuickBooks® and the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program® have participated in an advisory capacity as sponsors of the awards.
