ProAdvisors outside the United States can apply for the International ProAdvisor Awards regardless of their country of residence can now apply for the awards without needing to be nominated, or without nominating themselves.
The Application process is now nearly a year-round as of 2025; this provides greater opportunity for ProAdvisors worldwide to apply.
A new application process allowing applicants to open and close their application forms without completing them means that ProAdvisors can post their new training opportunities and certifications to their official application form throughout the period rather than being required to complete the form in just one or two sittings.
The official 2025 International ProAdvisor Application Form evaluates ProAdvisors based on Intuit regionalized standards to select the Top 50 International ProAdvisors and the International ProAdvisor of the Year.
International ProAdvisors must reside in a country other than the United States of America (or its territories), even if they hold a U.S. ProAdvisor certification.
Client Practice (Minimum Requirement)
To qualify for these awards, International ProAdvisor applicants must actively practice as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor® or QuickBooks Professional and support or provide services to one or more clients using QuickBooks®.
The illustration below is taken from the 2025 International Application form. You are asked to verify your client practice status by selecting the number of QuickBooks Clients you support or provide services to, along with the Intuit Region in which you are located. It’s just that simple to satisfy this requirement.
Current Certification (Minimum Requirement)
International ProAdvisor applicants must also hold Intuit ProAdvisor status or the equivalent for their country or a country within their Intuit Region. Such equivalent certification may include, but not be limited to, the QuickBooks Online (Global) Accountant Certification. Alternatively, International ProAdvisors can possess a certification from any country where Intuit issues such certification, including the United States; however, a U.S. certification does not qualify an International ProAdvisor (by residence) to participate in the U.S. ProAdvisor Awards (limited to U.S. residents only).
Even though we asked you to provide information in the prior ‘Clients Supported’ question about your Intuit region, we still need you to identify the ‘hemisphere’ in which you reside. This question is used to set the pathway by which you can select certifications available to you along with training opportunities. So, on the certification page you will be asked to select either Western or Eastern Hemisphere for your resident status (as shown below).
You are asked to provide information regarding your current QuickBooks Certifications (as show in the illustration below). Applicants must hold current certification issued (or re-issued) on or after November 1, 2023, in either QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor-Advanced, or QuickBooks Online (Global) Accountant. You must report your latest certification date (even if that does not match the date printed on the certificate as some Intuit regions issue renewal certificates with the original certification date, not the renewal date). It is critical that your report the Intuit Country/Region for your Hemisphere that issued the certificate to avoid mismatch errors when upload the certificate.
Applicants must upload a copy of one of the above certifications (as shown in the image below). The recommended upload file type is PDF, but other image types may be uploaded; however, they may not scan appropriately to confirm a match to the information you posted in the prior question.
We will look at some of the training aspects of the International ProAdvisor Application form in a future installment of this series.
Stay tuned.
Until then, remember, you can complete your formal application on a come-and-go basis. This means you could complete the first few pages, taking you through the questions and requirements we have just gone over, then use the Save and Continue option. You will receive an email with your personal URL to return to your application form at any time. That allows you to enter training, certifications (and more) as you earn them, or have time to enter them, until the application process closes on February 11, 2025.
Best of luck to you.
