Share your personal journey in the accounting industry
Started in admin and a Controller of the company I was working with started teaching me QuickBooks and that was it!!! That was desktop and I became certified in that. Then I found QuickBooks online and that was a completely different challenge. Did face some challenges after leaving the accounting firm, but overcame them. Starting on your own is tough and keeping your integrity.
Why did you become a QuickBooks ProAdvisor?
Initially, it was just to be able to access all the wonderful training material and it was great that it gave me a presence that helped launch my career.
Do you have a niche that you focus on or do you have a particular service that is key to your practice?

- Education and research.
What are your insights into overcoming obstacles and adapting to industry changes?
Just stay informed and educated.
Are there any particularly rewarding client experiences or success stories?
Just last week I helped a company that spends 10-15 hours manually entering sales data in Quickbooks by automating it. They now spend 30 minutes a month on that same process and the bookkeeper is happier for it too because she's not spending all of her time in spreadsheets/Quickbooks!
How does your firm add value to clients beyond traditional accounting services?
The personal touch. I speak to everyone and visit each and every client. I will meet them at their home or Starbucks or anywhere they like. I am very hands-on and very connected with all clients.
