Insightful Accountant is announcing today that Nominations Are Now Open for our 2020 Domestic ProAdvisor of the Year Awards Program. These awards are limited to ProAdvisor participants in the United States & Canada. Your Nominations are accepted for consideration toward the ProAdvisor of the Year, the Top 100 ProAdvisors and our related ProAdvisor Categorical Awards. The Nomination Period will remain Open through January 15, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. No nominations will be accepted after the close of the open nomination period.
ProAdvisors may nominate themselves or someone else during the open nomination period.
Nominees from the United States must hold one or more current Intuit ‘U.S.’ ProAdvisor certifications in order to be considered for these awards. Canadian participants must hold one or more current Intuit ‘Canadian’ ProAdvisor certifications. Duplicate certification is acceptable but cross-certification will be accepted only if a person’s application demonstrates that they predominately conduct business with clients in their non-resident country.
ProAdvisors must also have an active practice with one or more actual clients using QuickBooks (QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop). Individuals providing staff services that do not involve actual client interaction in rendering ProAdvisor services using QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop) are NOT eligible for these awards.
When completing the ‘nomination form’ no personal or professional details other than those necessary to identify both the Nominee AND Nominator are required during the initial nomination process.
The number of nominations submitted for an individual has absolutely no impact upon the outcome of the selection process, and it doesn’t matter if any nomination comes either from the nominee or if the nominee is provided by a nominator so long as all information required for nomination is correct.
Nominees meeting the certification and active practice minimum qualifications will be notified no later than January 23, 2020 with details regarding the formal application and selection process. Dates related to the formal application deadline, and other essential information will be provided as part of that notification, such notification may take the form of either an email and/or published Insightful Accountant article.
The selected Domestic Top 100 ProAdvisors for 2020 will be published within Insightful Accountant on or about May 5, 2020. The Domestic ProAdvisor of the Year and all ProAdvisor Categorical Winners for 2020 will be announced at the Scaling New Heights Conference in St. Louis, June 21-24, 2020.
Now for a word to our Canadian ProAdvisor brothers and sisters. We here at Insightful Accountant want to assure you that we fully recognize the distinctions between U.S. ProAdvisors and Canadian ProAdvisors and while the two programs have grown more common than distinct in recent years we know the full history of both programs. We also believe that ‘our process’ takes into account past distinctions as well as commonalities and has clearly demonstrated the ability to recognize outstanding Canadian ProAdvisor nominees within our core of Top 100 and even Categorical Winners over the past several years. I anticipate nothing less this year, and with the full complement of former world-wide international places now reserved for Canadian participants within our awards structure, I can only encourage your continued participation.
A word also to our past and future ‘International’ participants. Insightful Accountant has chosen to separate and significantly expand recognition of International ProAdvisors for 2020, going from just 10 International ProAdvisors to 50 International ProAdvisors each year including an International ProAdvisor of the Year. We will begin this entirely new program when our Domestic 2020 Program concludes at Scaling New Heights in St. Louis. For more details see our article titled, Insightful Accountant Announces New International ProAdvisor Awards Program. We want to encourage your participation when we announce the opening of that nomination process next summer.
By the way, be sure to REGISTER for Insightful Accountant’s QB Talks webinar on December 18 at 2:00 PM Eastern when Murph will be discussing changes in this year’s Domestic ProAdvisor Awards Program along with the importance of preparing for these awards and completing the ‘formal application properly. In the meantime, just remember, you can’t go forward in this process if you are not ‘Nominated’, so feel free to nominate yourself.
Last, but by no means least, we must thank the sponsors of our 2020 Domestic ProAdvisor of the Year Awards Program. If it were not for these sponsors, these awards would not exist. This year’s sponsors are: Canon, ADP, Receipt Bank, Synder, Patriot Software, AbacusNext, ZOHO, Tax Form Source, Intuit QuickBooks, the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program, Tax Practice News and Scaling New Heights.
