If I have told you once, I have told you a dozen (or more) times everything about Insightful Accountant's Top 100 ProAdvisor Awards is based on the various categories comprising the Awards. So, when it comes down to the multiple standards against which ProAdvisors are measured, those standards have a direct relationship to the various categories.
Nowhere is it easier to understand this relationship than in the standards regarding Certification(s). For example, if you don’t have the most current certification for QuickBooks Desktop, the likelihood you could ever be among the highest-ranking ProAdvisors within the QB Desktop Category is almost impossible.
Since prior Desktop certifications earn fewer points than the most current certification, past years alone are no guarantee you will qualify for the category.
The same can be said of QuickBooks Online—you simply must maintain current certification. In addition, since there is an Advanced Certification for QuickBooks Online ProAdvisors, the 'certification measures' are therefore higher for QBO than for Desktop (where Advanced Certification no longer exists).
Because the awards for these two categories stand on their own merit concerning certifications (and related training), there are no crossover considerations. The QBO Category is based solely on QBO-related certifications and training (regarding those measures) without considering QBD certifications and training.
The QuickBooks Desktop Category is similarly related to QBD certifications and training (regarding those measures) without considering QBO certifications and training.
That doesn't mean that these two categories don't include measures for other non-certification areas, such as education/training, practice characteristics, etc., it just means that their certifications and certification-related training is focused solely in the areas corresponding to the category itself.

You probably are wondering why I am bringing up this topic regarding the 2024 Awards when it is just June 2023, and we only named the 2023 Top 100 last week.
The answer is two-fold:
- June 30, 2023, is the deadline for many QuickBooks Online ProAdvisors (Core and Advanced) to complete the required recertification to maintain their certification status and benefits. Any ProAdvisor who passed or recertified their current credential before Nov. 1, 2022, must recertify by the end of June.
- June 13, 2023, is the start of Intuit’s three day QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Training and Certification Bootcamp, which is designed to help ProAdvisors accomplish recertification before the June 30, 2023 deadline. The bootcamp also allows persons not yet certified at either the Advanced or Core level of QBO to prepare for the certification examination(s). To register for the bootcamp, visit this official Intuit website.
Tomorrow is the perfect opportunity to not only begin the steps to maintain your certifications that are such an integral part of the Top 100 Awards process, but also to earn valuable credits directly related to the QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Advanced: Mid-market Specialist, and QuickBooks Online Appology Top 100 ProAdvisor categories.
And don’t worry, while the rigors of this week’s bootcamp may be demanding; they won’t be asking you to do any push-ups.
