Over the last month, we have examined the ProAdvisor Certifications Insightful Accountant recognizes as the minimum certification requirement for domestic applicants for the Top 100 Awards Process.
We also began examining ProAdvisor Certifications ancillary or additional to the minimum requirement—including QuickBooks Online Payroll Certification, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Certification—and QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale 19.0 Certification.
Here, we will examine the QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise ProAdvisor Certification because meeting the minimum certification requirement is just a start for anyone actively seeking Top 100 ProAdvisor status. That's why Insightful Accountant rates US applicants on the ancillary ProAdvisor Certifications as part of the total certification ranking.
Please remember that Intuit's QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program administers all QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certifications. Even those certifications may be subject to change by Intuit any time between now and the 2024 official Top 100 application form.
QuickBooks Enterprise ProAdvisor Certification
If you support QuickBooks Desktop clients as a ProAdvisor, chances are you support QuickBooks Enterprise clients. Sooner or later, most Desktop clients outgrow the capabilities or functionalities of QuickBooks Pro or Premier.
When they do, the natural progression is to migrate their company file to QuickBooks Enterprise, where they can grow in functionalities, like Advanced Inventory and capabilities, like up to 40 users.
Because QuickBooks Enterprise offers many more functionalities, Intuit began offering training and certification in the product as early as Version 4. Today, Enterprise is running on Version 23, and it won't be long before Version 24 is released.
While Intuit does not update the QuickBooks Enterprise Certification training or exam every year, this certification is designed to help you successfully support mid-market clients using the powerful capabilities and functionalities within QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
Most updates to the exam occur when the product has sufficient changes to warrant new training content and a new examination.
QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Certification Training currently consists of 2 hours of Introduction, 2.5 hours of instruction in inventory basics using the 2023 QuickBooks Enterprise product, 2.5 hours of Advanced Inventory feature training, and 2 hours of instruction on Consulting and Implementation of QuickBooks Enterprise.

Training participants can earn up to 18 CPE credits for completing the four modules comprising 8.5 hours of QuickBooks Enterprise Certification training.
You can earn as many, if not more, training-points, CPE credits and Certification-points by taking and passing the QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise ProAdvisor Certification as you can for the QuickBooks Online Payroll Certification.
Now imagine how many you can earn if you are certified in both. — Murph
The QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Certification Exam must be passed with at least 80% of the multiple-choice questions answered correctly.

As mentioned earlier, Intuit does not issue new QuickBooks Enterprise Certification preparation training or Certification Examination every year. As a result, the certification does not expire until a new certification becomes available.
As of this article's publication date, Intuit has not announced any future update to either the training or examination for QuickBooks Enterprise. Accordingly, for the 2024 Top 100 process, the current training and examination reflected in this article will be considered current for the formal application.
If and when Intuit issues updated QuickBooks Enterprise Certification training and a new Certification Examination, Insightful Accountant will establish a relevant definition of currency related to such certifications applicable to the Top 100 process for 2024 or later.
At present, QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop Certifications issued before the formal application closing date will be considered timely when issued on or after Nov. 1, 2022, for purposes of the Top 100 process 2024 Awards Year.
Insightful Accountant also awards points as part of the Top 100 Awards process for QuickBooks Enterprise certifications on a historical basis. This is for applicants who have reported a current certification for any of the recognized Intuit US ProAdvisor Certifications meeting the minimum requirement and a current certification in QuickBooks Enterprise.
In our next article, we will examine QuickBooks Point-of-Sale ProAdvisor Certification.
