Your names had hardly appeared in print without our feature, and for those of you who were recipients of the Categorical Awards, may have just been published the same day, that reportedly you began receiving emails and/or phone calls from persons representing themselves as persons with 'your best interests' on their mind.
I have been contacted by a couple of you (our 2019 Top 100 ProAdvisors) advising me that you have been (in recent days) the recipients of emails or phone calls from individuals saying that as a result of your Top 100 status you qualify for special consideration or special pricing, or they want you to be involved in the development of their App or software. They start throwing out 'names' you have heard like people here at Insightful Accountant, or perhaps people at Intuit, perhaps telling you they have long been associated with, or been endorsed by them.
Let me assure you that, 'our official Top 100 Sponsors' were all listed in all of our Top 100 communications, and published even in the list where your names were printed. There are no other 'undercover sponsors' or other endorsed developers or vendors associated with the Top 100 program that have not been disclosed to you.
Further, if 'we' here at Insightful Accountant want to put you in touch with a specific vendor or to ask you to participate in some way in a (current or future) project we may have some relationship to, we will send you an email introducing you to that vendor only after we have communicated with you regarding your potential participation.
And one more thing, while we published your names, we did not publish your emails or other identification information (such as phone numbers). So, we here at Insightful Accountant just want to forewarn you that the scammers have apparently decided that being named to the Top 100 (and above) qualifies you for their special attention, we therefore must caution you to guard yourself if you are contacted by any such individuals.
