The following changes, improvements, and fixes are included in maintenance release R6 for QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2018, QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2018 and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 18.0. Later releases (ones with higher numbers) include all changes in earlier releases.
Payroll-related:
- Fixed an issue causing employees to receive and open another employee's paystub using their own password.
- To protect sensitive data, a prompt to authorize users will appear before changing any Employee & Vendor Direct Deposit Bank details.
- Queue of blocked paychecks caused by past edits will now be cleared out to be able to send new paychecks.
Payments-related:
- For improved security, each Payments user will be required to have their own unique Intuit ID to help admins in enabling and revoking access.
QuickBooks Crashes:
- Fixed an error causing QuickBooks to crash when creating a company file.
Should You or Shouldn’t You
- recommend waiting a brief time to see if any issues arise out of this newest maintenance release; however, if you are making use of these features you may wish to proceed with download and update. If you do not want to proceed, now is the time to turn off 'automatic updates' on all your QuickBooks installations as Intuit will be pushing out these updates over the next few days even though they are already available for 'manual update' from ntuit's official Downloads and Update website. By the way, if you have not seen it, the "Downloads and Update" page has undergone some revisions as of late.
