Intuit has launched their world-wide (or nearly world-wide) search for the Global Firm of the Future. The contest which is intended to feature accounting, tax and bookkeeping firms from the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and India will be finalized in the recognition of the winner at this year’s QuickBooks Connect conference being held in San Jose, California November 5-7, 2018. This is the first year in which India has been included in the contest.
The winning firm will share in $135,000 in prizes and receive an all-expense paid trip to QuickBooks Connect. Intuit will also donate up to $25,000 to Kiva.org as part of the contest conclusion.
Entries are now open and will remain so until August 12, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Eligible firms can enter at the 2018 Firm of the Future website.
To submit an entry, firms interested in participating in the process will need to answer the following questions (in 200 words or fewer) to demonstrate why they deserve to be named the 2018 Intuit QuickBooks Global Firm of the Future:
- How many small business clients the firm serves for accounting, bookkeeping and/or tax needs?
- What percentage of the firm's small business clients use QuickBooks Online?
- Explain how the firm saves time for both the firm and firm's clients by leveraging cloud-based accounting technologies, including QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant and any third-party applications.
- Describe what advisory services the firm performs on behalf of clients to help them avoid pitfalls and identify growth opportunities. Include how technology and the products the firm uses play a role in the ability to deliver those services.
- Explain how the firm leverages the Web, digital marketing and social media to interact with clients, reach new prospects and grow.
- Share a story of how the firm has leveraged cloud-based accounting technologies (including QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant and/or any third party applications) to help a specific client prosper and achieve success.
- Firms must also upload one photo (collages including multiple images are permitted) that best exemplifies how it is a Firm of the Future.

Rich Preece, global leader of the accountant segment, small business and self- employed group at Intuit, along with an international panel of qualified judges from Intuit’s small business and self-employed group and accountant segment, will select a total of five finalists (one from each participating country) as well as 10 runners-up from all submissions, regardless of location.
Finalists will then work with the contest sponsor to produce a video explaining why they are a ‘Firm of the Future’. The finalist videos will be posted in an online gallery for public voting. Public voting is scheduled to take place between October 16 and October 31, 2018.
