Editor's Update to Article: - As of 17.35 Eastern time, Intuit is saying that the "earlier issue with certificate errors while syncing applications with QuickBooks Desktop has been resolved." For more details check out the help article at intuit.me/cert . That article contains references to a fix for problems involving syncing applications using or not using Web Connector.
Updates have been pushed out to help resolve problems users encountered with the QuickBooks Web Connector and QuickBooks SDK Integrated Applications over the last 48 to 60 hours. Another aspect of this was that Symantec and some other security certificates were revoked, and Intuit simultaneously began working with their 3rd-party Partners to identify and resolve the causes related to the problems. The Problem Report is shown below.
Intuit has pushed out fixes for the currently supported versions. For QuickBooks 2023 products, including Enterprise (v23.0), the most current update version available is R6_8. Check your F2 (CTRL+1) Product Information window to determine if the R6_8 version is installed if you’ve been having app connection problems due to security certificate revocation. Prior versions were R5_19, R5_22, and R5_27, but this R6_8 was pushed out shortly before this publication.
The newest update version for 2022 products including Enterprise (v22.0), is R11_2. You must check your F2 (CTRL+1) Product Information window to determine if the R11_2 version is installed if you have app connection issues resulting from revoked security certificates.
Suppose your QuickBooks 2023 and 2022 versions are not up to these newest releases, as shown in your F2 (CTRL+1) Product Information window. In that case, you need to manually download updates from QuickBooks by going to Help >> Get QuickBooks Updates>> Update Now. After downloading the updates, you must close QuickBooks completely, re-open it, and accept the prompt to ‘install updates’ that are waiting. Follow the on-screen instructions. Once the updates are installed, you should close QuickBooks again if it opens, or you may get a message like the one below advising that you must restart your computer for the updates to finish.
Once your computer has restarted and is back to normal operations, launch QuickBooks and check the F2 (CTRL+1) Product Information window to ensure you are on the most up-to-date version to help you resolve these issues.
Some 3rd-party app developers may still have to arrange for new security certificates and work with their customers to get their apps back into operation with security updates/changes.
