Intuit Canada says freelancers, independent contractors and on-demand workers will make up 45 percent of the Canadian workforce by 2020.
So, in attempt to them navigate the sometimes tricky financial landscape, the company is releasing its QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app for iOS and Android.
Last fall, Intuit partnered with Emergent Research to identify trends in the Canadian labor market through surveys and Statistics Canada data. The two companies also found that 41 percent of self-employed Canadians are doing the work to supplement their regular income, while 47 percent are doing it for greater work-life flexibility.
