New Sales Center Overview in QuickBooks Online

by

General Ledger

The Sales Center Overview is now live in QBO. This new screen allows users to see at a glance income over a period of time, mobile payment options, pending invoices and upcoming deposits. Each of the areas can be clicked to view details.

Users who have been using QBO for a while may have their favorite methods for accessing areas of QBO, but I see this new overview screen as a great landing page for new users. New users can learn how to setup mobile payments; the shortcut is a great prompt for getting started with not only creating methods for recording sales transaction, but also to learn about recurring sales.

With the Sales Center Overview, you can:

  • Download the QBO App
  • Learn how to enter an Invoice if you have never done so
  • Drill down into Invoices
  • See batched and expected deposits
  • Find sales transaction shortcuts

To access the Sales Center Overview Tab

From the Navigation Bar, select Sales, then choose Overview

The Four Major Areas of the Sales Center Overview

There are four major areas: income over time, invoices, deposits and shortcuts. All appearing on the overview window.

Income Over Time

This area provides insights as to the amount income collected during a given period. Using the drop-down, chosen date ranges can be selected.

Invoices

The invoices area displays open and currently closed invoices. By clicking in each section, you can see a list of open invoices or recently paid invoices.

Deposits

This is perhaps my favorite section. If there are upcoming deposits, they will be displayed in the box, but if you wish to see prior deposits you can click in the box and a list of recent deposits is visible. Each deposit on the list can be opened to view deposit details.

Shortcuts

By choosing the shortcuts images, you can open each of the areas within QBO. The shortcut options are New Invoice, New Sale, Recurring Invoice or Recurring Sale.

Don't Get Confused - there is a new Deposits tab too!

The same new deposits list visible in the Sales Center Overview is also available by clicking directly into Deposits. No longer do you have to go find deposits in the bank register or on a report. Instead, it’s easy to find deposit details by clicking the down arrow to see a list of the transactions in the batch.

The new Sales Center Overview tab and related features are all about making QBO easy.

Intuit and QuickBooks have once again given users an information area to help us navigate our finances even easier than before. Thanks QBO!
