Have“You been chosen” for QBO Advanced Trial? The no added cost trail allows users to test QuickBooks Online Advanced, and while some might be excited to try the new version, others may want to decline the offer immediately. The full screen advertisement gives two options “upgrade now” or “continue with trial.”
QBO Plus Usage Limits
If your client exceeds any of the limits placed on QBO and has over 250 chart of accounts, 40 classes/locations, or more than 5 users, they may need to upgrade anyway and the intro price will be welcome. But… if your client does not exceed these limits and wishes to stay in the QBO Plus subscription, there is a way to opt-out of the QBO Advanced trial.
There is also an option of cleaning up the data file lists for client files; which are over the limit because of old chart of accounts, classes or location lists which are 'bulging at the seams.' Making them inactive will 'slim-down' their usage.
How to Opt-Out
The advertisement appears to only client-paid subscriptions. Whether you are the Master Admin or Accountant User you can use these steps to opt-out of the trial and stay in QBO Plus. In order to decline the offer, you must say YES to the trial. If you receive are error “Uh-oh somethings wrong,” try the steps again. Sometimes the first attempt does not work.

If you would like to check your data file user limits, click on the company gear icon, then select Account and Settings, and then choose Usage to verify you are under the usage limits.

The majority of users I help are still a good fit for QBO Plus. Most who are exceeding the limits are users whose chart of accounts and/or classes/locations needed to be cleaned up. By merging or making them inactive, they were able to continue with the Plus subscription. Those few clients whose data files truly are over the new limits will in fact need to upgrade.
