"Trick or Treat." Intuit is announcing Payroll and Payments user price hikes
Price Hike for QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll Users
Effective Dec. 1, 2023, new pricing will go into effect for users of Intuit's legacy Enhanced Payroll product.
Users of Enhanced Payroll (limited for one to three employees) for QuickBooks Desktop will see their costs increase to $650 per year plus $1.75 per employee direct deposit (EEDD). The current annual subscription is $500/year + $1.75/EEDD.
Users of Enhanced Payroll (unlimited for 4 or more employees) for QuickBooks Desktop will see costs rise to $850 per year plus $1.75 per employee direct deposit. The current annual subscription is $650/year + $1.75/EEDD.
Abolition of QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Standard and Basic
Starting Dec. 1, 2023, Intuit will end support for legacy Standard Payroll and legacy Basic Payroll. QuickBooks Desktop users on these payroll plans will be migrated into the "current" Enhanced Payroll for QuickBooks Desktop.
These changes will take effect on the user's next subscription renewal date.
Enhanced Payroll provides additional functionality over Basic or Standard, and allows the user to e-file and e-pay their federal and state payroll taxes.
Users impacted by this change will be notified of these changes both "in product" and "via email." Users must consent to this change using an option in their Customer Account Management Portal.
If Intuit does not receive the user's consent prior to their subscription renewal date, Intuit will terminate their payroll service at the time of renewal. Users then will be required to enter into a new Enhanced Payroll subscription and arrange for Intuit to link their prior Payroll history.
This official Intuit Help Document provides more details.
Instant Deposit Price Hike for QuickBooks Desktop Payments Subscribers
There will be an automatic change in the price of Instant Deposit for QuickBooks Desktop Payments subscribers effective Dec. 4, 2023.
The rate will increase from 1.00% to 1.75% for both current and new subscribers when using the 'Instant Deposit' option.
Sorry, this news wasn't the "sweet treats" you were hoping for on Halloween.
