With Intuit discontinuing Sync Manger that allowed cloud based Apps to connect with QuickBooks Desktop, as of March 1, 2016, Concur has implemented their plans for a new QuickBooks Desktop integration. Concur is a leading provider of integrated travel and expense management solutions. By delivering electronic receipts directly into expense reports, Concur virtually eliminates the need to track and manage paper receipts.
Concur has developed a new integration to connect Concur to QuickBooks Desktop utilizing Web Connector. If you want Concur to continue to integrate with your QuickBooks Desktop product (Pro, Premier, Enterprise, Accountant), you will have to switch to the new Web Connector integration before March 1, 2016.
(Should I say I told you so, well I did tell you that I anticipated a lot of cloud Apps would migrate to the "oldie but goodie" Web Connector when Sync Manager was on its' dying days.)
Because Concur knows that this change by Intuit couldn't come at a worse time for busy accountants and advisors who not only support clients, but also perform year-end accounting tasks and prepare tax returns, Concur has attempted to make the change-over process as painless as possible. Concur told Insightful Accountant that changing from the Sync Manager integration to the new Web Connector integration is an easy 3-step process:
1) Process and post all existing reports from Concur into your QuickBooks file.
2) Disconnect from your current connection with Concur.

3) Connect via the new Web-connector.

Well, really it is a little more complex that that; there are a few 'accessory steps' for each of the three major steps above, but still it is pretty easy if you simply follow their PDF guide. You can also view a video of the process here. You can also get answers to frequently asked questions here.
With a few minutes to make the change over you will continue to be able to use Concur to capture all your expenses and sync them into your QuickBooks (desktop) Company file, thus enjoying all the same features you used this App for in the first place. But remember, If you are a Concur user and you want to continue to integrate Concur with your QuickBooks Desktop software, you must switch to the new 'Web Connector' before March 1, 2016.
