There was no fanfare or thrilling movie to zoom into next year's location as Joe Woodard announced during this year’s final main stage event that "Scaling New Heights" would return to its home in Atlanta, June 17-20, in 2018.
Rather than emphasize the location, Joe chose to highlight next year's theme, which centers around the expanding role of artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics (bots) under the theme of “Tame the Machines.”
"Scaling New Heights 2018" will highlight this imminent and unprecedented shift in technology impacting accounting professionals.
New and enhanced technologies such as data automation, machine learning and AI are reshaping the way professionals perform services and creating a powerful opportunity for accountants to reduce manual processes by as much as 80 percent.
At the same time, if machines and systems take on more and more tasks, it’s hard to escape the conclusion that there will be less for people, perhaps even professionals, to do.
Yet Joe is convinced that those who fully leverage these technologies will increase profits, position their firms to scale and generate a competitive advantage within the accounting profession.
"Scaling New Heights 2018" is centered on helping conference attendees achieve these outcomes despite the “Rise of the Machines” in effect taming the technology and putting it to their advantage.
Hyatt Regency Atlanta
The Hyatt Regency Atlanta, located in the heart of downtown, will be "Conference Central" for 2018. With its signature Polaris Blue Dome, this hotel is a premier meeting and convention venue. The hotel is connected to the Peachtree Center MARTA station, allowing convention goers to travel from airport to hotel without ever stepping outside.
It also is convenient to major attractions like the World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium, CNN, Underground Atlanta, and more.
"Scaling New Heights" gives you the opportunity to learn and network like no other event. In 2018, the Main Stage will include both Steve Forbes, a widely respected economic prognosticator, and Daniel Susskind, co-author of the bestselling book, "The Future of the Professions."
