Intuit
You may recall that Murph and I attended the Intuit VIP Summit a couple of months ago. During the Summit we heard from many of Intuit's key executives and team leaders. We recently received an update from Ray Barlow, Sr. Strategic Account Leader, Accounting and Advisors Group, Intuit regarding the development of the Stratecig Account team which focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with accounting and advisory firms. It appears that Ray has been busy during his two month tenure building a team of industry veterans to help accounting and advisory firms move towards the cloud. In addition to Barlow, the Strategic Accounts team now consists of:
David Bergstein, CPA, CITP, and long-time manager at CCH, has taken a position as the new senior strategic customer leader. In his role, Bergstein will be responsible for encouraging CPA firms to move to cloud-based applications. Bergstein joins us with a breadth of experience, including his previous role at CCH where he built and maintained relationships with CPAs. His career has included positions at the former CLR/Fast Tax, Thomson Reuters, AccountantsWorld and CPA2Biz. Bergstein has been active in the accountant community and has served on the American Institute of CPA's Top Tech Technology Team and presently is a member of the Florida Institute of CPA's Business Technology Section and the Financial Literacy Committee.
Kim Hogan, who just joined our team in early November, will work with accounting firms to help them move from desktop to cloud, which includes identifying which clients need training and which are ready for the move to the cloud. Prior to joining Intuit, Hogan was the director of west coast operations for XCM Solutions, LLC, and before that was a business development manager for Fujitsu's ScanSnap line of scanners, with a focus on accountant adoption of its ScanSnap product line. Kim was named to CRN magazine’s “Women of the Channel” list in 2013, CPA Practice Advisor’s 40 under 40 list in 2012, Accounting Today’s 100 Most Influential People in Accounting “One’s to Watch” in 2012, and was also featured on CPA Practice Advisor’s September 2013 cover story: The Changing Face of Accounting.
Jim Clement, former director of national accounts at Thomson and CCH, joins us with more than 15 years of experience calling on national accounting firms. He has successfully managed large complex software sales with specific expertise in cloud based tax and accounting solutions. His last 10+ years were spent working with the top 25 accounting firms in the U.S.
Marty French has been working with Intuit’s most valuable Accountants for over eight years. Over this time, she has helped Intuit’s Accountants optimize their profitability with workflow efficiencies, but specializes in helping them expand their Entrepreneurial and Accounting Service offerings utilizing Intuit products, services and programs to double and triple their revenue for this practice group. Throughout her career, Marty has won over 34 professional awards and been recognized for her contributions with 9 community awards.
In an email statement Barlow said, "I’m thrilled to have such strong talent join our team. Our new team members bolster Intuit’s commitment to help accounting professional save time and grow their practice. Combined they bring together more than 75 years of experience calling on CPA firms, and as more firms begin to explore the benefits of cloud solutions these experienced professionals will help our accounting partners through an essential transition into a cloud and mobile world. We look forward to continuing the journey with our valued accounting partners."
Intuit has always stated the importance of the accounting professional to their business. With this latest addition of talent they appear to be supporting this with their investments. We at Intuitive Accountant wish the team the best of luck in their new endeavors.
