Intuit QuickBooks Certification
At last Friday's (8/3/2018) Woodard Monthly Member Webinar Naveena Bereny, the Global Lead for QuickBooks Training and Certification at Intuit announced several changes for ProAdvisors.
While some ProAdvisors apparently received an alert from the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Team on June 17, many ProAdvisors seem to have missed this notification (shown at right). The lack of ProAdvisor awareness of the notification could be due to the fact that the notice went to QuickBooks Online 'Advanced Certified' ProAdvisors (based upon the content of the notice).
The June 17 announcement, which Naveena confirmed and clarified during her brief Webinar segment, has eliminated the ACE (Advanced Continuing Education) credit requirement only for QBO Advanced Certification.
Regarding re-certification for QuickBooks Online Advanced status, all Advanced ProAdvisors currently certified will need to re-certify by July 31, 2019 in order to maintain their Advanced ProAdvisor status. Intuit will be issuing details about the re-certification process as they are finalized.
Naveena advised those attending the webinar that Intuit had rolled-out a shorter re-certification for the QBO 'Core product' Certification this year which was well received by QBO Certified ProAdvisors. Intuit's plans are to leverage that same type of approach for QBO Advanced Certified ProAdvisors.
Naveena also announced that once the QBO Advanced Re-certification is finalized that ProAdvisors will take only the re-certification examination associated with their higher level of certification. In other words, they won't have to re-certify in both QBO Advanced and QBO 'Core' levels of certification.
Regarding the new policy concerning the 'end of ACE' credits the question was posed if the same thing applied to QuickBooks 'Desktop' Advanced ProAdvisor Certification. Naveena announced that Intuit was evaluating the 'Desktop Certifications' as a whole and they hope to innovate and re-imagine that program (and those certifications) in the near future.
Insightful Accountant will strive to keep you aware of any/all changes to both the QBO Certifications and QuickBooks Desktop-related Certifications as the information becomes available. Special thanks to Intuit, and Naveena Bereny, the Global Lead for QuickBooks Training and Certification at Intuit for allowing us to bring you this latest information.
