Thomas Casey, formerly with Intuit, CCH and Thomson Reuters, has joined Joe Woodard's National Advisor Network** as it's new Director. I had the opportunity to sit down with Thomas to discuss his background and vision for the National Advisor Network.
IA: What is your background?
TC: I have almost 15 years of experience working with accountants and bookkeepers. Most of that time was spent at Intuit helping Quickbooks ProAdvisors. I also worked for CCH and Thomson in their tax, accounting, and research departments.
IA: What is your Vision for the National Advisor Network?
TC: I have a passion for empowering the ProAdvisor community. We will make it easier for members to network with each other through more valuable chapter meetings. We will provide more advanced learning experiences. Members who attend Scaling New Heights will get a sneak peek of what we are planning. We will also build out more powerful resources and tools to make the network more valuable.
IA: What have been working on in your first two weeks?
TC: I have spent the bulk of my time listening to members. I am so grateful for the feedback. Many members are looking for a deeper level of knowledge and quick, correct answers. I see many in our community actively participating in the discussion forum. Members let me know that searching in the forum is difficult, so we'll be working to improve the search functionality.
IA: Is there anything that NAN members can expect in the short-term?
TC: There is some extremely exciting news to share that will lead to greater value in the membership and will give members the opportunity to grow their revenues without much effort. We will be announcing it in San Antonio at Scaling New Heights next month. I look forward to meeting everyone. If any member wants to offer any suggestions or feedback, I can be reached at tcasey@nationaladvisornetwork.com
