Sage, the market leader in cloud business management solutions, today announced at Sage Summit Atlanta the release of a new manufacturing module for Sage 100cloud. Production Management will now be available in Sage 100cloud, the cloud-connected ERP solution for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
Sage also today released a study by Forrester Consulting[1] revealing that more than half of manufacturing and distribution companies are planning to invest in hybrid cloud solutions to help achieve their business goals. The study findings underscore how companies in complex industries are taking a hybrid cloud approach to achieve digital transformation.
“The research conducted by Forrester Consulting reveals sixty-eight percent of midmarket companies surveyed are migrating existing applications to the cloud,” said Nancy Harris, Executive Vice President, Sage North America. “Interestingly, when it comes to their financial systems plans, more than fifty percent of companies revealed they are looking for financial systems that are hybrid or on-premise solutions. This new functionality delivered to Sage 100cloud allows customers to leverage all the benefits of the cloud while maintaining control of core operations in an on-premise or hosted environment.”
The study also uncovered that cost reduction is the number one priority for mid-market manufacturers, and over two-thirds of businesses looking to reduce costs reported that on-premise or a hosted (non-cloud) deployment model is the best for helping them to achieve their outcomes. Sage 100cloud gives businesses access to hybrid cloud solutions without sacrificing the customization of an on-premise or hosted solution.
With the new Sage Production Management module, Sage100cloud users have visibility into the entire production process. Built on the Sage 100cloud Business Object Framework, Sage Production Management offers discrete manufacturers an expanded set of easily customizable features. Tight integration with Sage 100cloud means that users also benefit from connectivity with a growing ecosystem of cloud-based capabilities to optimize inventory management, increase collaboration, and automated workflows.
Sage partnered with independent software vendor Scanco, which specializes in warehouse management and manufacturing automation, to develop the new manufacturing module. Together, they designed functionality to support the specific needs of discrete, make-to-stock manufacturers in Sage 100cloud. To help manufacturing businesses meet the complex needs of their business, Sage Production Management introduces more than 60 new features, including:
- Dynamic inventory assessment: To help mitigate inaccuracies in inventory management, Sage Production Management offers real-time updating of inventory transactions and quantity on hand as materials are issued.
- Customizability: Built on Sage’s Business Object framework architecture, Sage Production Management can be tailored to meet the unique needs of businesses today and as they grow.
- Extensibility: The roadmap for Sage Production Management features optimal extensions to support additional functionality like material requirements planning, make to order, enhanced scheduling, advanced product configuration, and more.
“The new Production Management module demonstrates Sage’s commitment to providing a comprehensive, end-to-end, cloud-enabled solution for customers and we are thrilled to be part of bringing it to life,” said Shaun Boros, Partner at Scanco Software. “We are excited to help deliver a module that will ensure all Sage 100cloud users have the tools they need to scale and grow into the future, while cutting costs.”
Sage 100cloud is specifically suited to help mid-sized manufacturers, distributors and service businesses create customized workflows, using cloud-connected solutions and customized on-premise features.
