For the 12th year, the Ponemon Institute, a privacy and information security research firm, has issued its Most Trusted Companies for Privacy. The study highlights companies and federal agencies the public trusts most to protect their personal information.
The survey is unique and objective, in that it's independent of any company sponsorship and is completely decided by consumers who self-select companies rather than choosing from a prepared list of companies.
Not only was Intuit named in this year's Top 10, but it was recognized as only one of six companies to have achieved a Top 20 or better rating over 10 years.
The top 10 companies for 2017 were: Apple, Amazon, American Express, IBM, LinkedIn, Facebook, HP, Intuit, PayPal and the U.S. Postal Service and USAA, which tied for the No. 10 spot.
In announcing the Top 10, Ponemon said that the common denominator between these companies was a "strong orientation to respecting their customers and providing the best possible customer service."
In receiving the reward, Intuit stated they were honored to be recognized along side so many great companies, and that they would work hard to protect their customers' sensitive information, as well as strive for the support their customers needed and deserved.
