Wounded Warrior Project
What would you say to a 'wounded warrior'? How about...."Congratulations on passing your QBO ProAdvisor Certification, I'm here to mentor you and help you build a new small business advisor practice."
I can't take credit for this idea, I must thank Marilyn Sudbeck, one of our contributing authors for that, but I can make it my mission to promote and help foster such a program. Marilyn approached me a few days ago while we were attending the Solutions 14 conference with this idea. We both spoke with Jim McGinnis of Intuit about the concept, and it was well received, but we all know how slowly 'big corporations' can move up and down the corporate chain when it comes to new programs.
Marilyn and I believe it would be great if Intuit would form an alliance with the Wounded Warrior Project to sponsor and provide free live QBO ProAdvisor training to any interested Wounded Warrior to help get them up and running again, so to speak, in a new career. The next step would be to link them up with an experienced QBO ProAdvisor in their own local area who volunteered to mentor a Wounded Warrior through the steps in developing a productive small business advisor practice, or partnering with their own practice or employing the warrior as a team member.
Since YOU, our Intuitive Accountant readers, are the cream of the crop of QuickBooks ProAdvisors, what better group to reach out to in order to help make this project a reality. Won't you become a "ProAdvisor for Wounded Warriors as ProAdvisors"?
If you would like to help make this a reality, please let us know by simply posting your name and zip code in the comments section of this blog (please don't provide any other ID at this point, we don't want this list to become a source for someone else to compile a mailing list, or spam our respondents.) Intuitive Accountant will compile a list of respondents and submit that to Jim at Intuit as evidence of ProAdvisor support and willingness to participate.
It gets me all teary-eyed just thinking about it, and I believe if you earnestly look at this idea with both heart and head, you will get the same 'warm and fuzzy' feeling inside as well. So let's make this a reality folks, our Wounded Warriors need to be extended every opportunity in appreciation for the service and sacrifices they have given.
Murph
PS - I am going to 'harp and harp' on this until I get the name of every IA reader on our list, so you might as well send me your name on the very first round so you don't have to put up with me continually chattering about this...........
