QuickBooks Error 80029c4a
QuickBooks 2014 R4 Users are reporting 'an unexpected error when trying to run QuickBooks with their "company file". The specific error (shown above) contains a reference to Error Code: 80029c4a and results if the background (push) update did not install completely. In some cases simply restarting your computer may correct the problem; however, in other cases restarting will not resolve the problem.
In those cases it will be necessary to perform a clean install of QuickBooks:
1. Uninstall QuickBooks - depending on your operating system, you will need to navigate to the Uninstall or change a Program feature (Windows 8, 7 and Vista), or Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP). The proceed in uninstalling/removing QuickBooks 2014. As always we recommend that you make a 'windows copy' of your QuickBooks company file and store it away safely prior to initiating an Uninstall, this is because some users do not accept default file locations and store their files sometimes with the application files.
2. Performs steps for a "Clean Install". You can download and run the QuickBooks Clean Install Utility in order to accomplish this task.
3. Reinstall QuickBooks. If necessary you can download the most current version of the product from the Intuit Products and Updates website.
