The Sleeter Group's Solutions14 Accounting Technology Conference opened officially Sunday evening with a Welcome Reception which was sponsored by Right Networks. The evenings event took place in the Augustus Ballroom of Caesars Palace, the host venue for the conference. This Ballroom also serves as the Exhibit Hall and was lined pretty well wall to wall with exhibitors, a few additional sponsors have their exhibits set-up outside of the entrance to the Ballroom.
Among the antipasti being served were a selection of cured meats including salami, cacciatore, prosciutto, finocchiona, capocollo, and soppressata in the company of some gorgonzola, pecorino, mozzarella, provolone, fontina, asiago and a few other cheeses I was not so clear on. Throw in olives and peppers, and some toasted Italian bread and you go with the flow that you are indeed at Caesar's Palace.
Many participants at the reception had arrived much earlier in the day when pre-conference workshops were offered ranging from a QuickBooks Desktop Consultants Workshop to Adding a Xero to your Accounting Practice. Inventory and Order Management, Payroll and HR Solutions for Small Business, and several others insured that early guests were given plenty of opportunities to learn rather than simply enjoy Las Vegas.
On the other hand, I got the feeling that a large number of the guests at this evenings gathering had arrived at the conference not too long before the reception began. I myself was about 30 minutes late arriving at the reception thanks in part to the long-line at Caesars front desk. (They obviously didn't know how important a guy I really am; just wait till Julius gets my final review of his joint...it will be the 'ides' for him all over again).
I look forward to keeping you up-to-date about the conference. Bye for now.

Hey, I wonder where they are pressing out the grapes with their bare feet around this joint?
