It is rare that I ask our readers to buy anything since everything we have for you is free. Occasionally, however, I need to reach out to our audience and ask for your support if you feel so inclined.
Both of my boys are in Scouts. One is a first year Boy Scout after having gone through 5 years of Cub Scouts and the other is a Webelos I, which means he is in his 4th year of Cub Scouts. They love camping, the outdoors and being with their Scouting friends. Boy Scouts get to go to what is called High Adventure Camps (hiking, sailing, canoeing for a week each) once they reach the age of 14, which means we have about 2 years to save up (or earn) money for the trips that cost about $1,000+ per person (depending on the trip).
Boy Scouts (and Cub Scouts) sell popcorn as a primary fundraiser to help pay for the campouts, big trips and High Adventure Trips. In the past they have gone door to door and had storefront sales. You can now buy popcorn from Scouts online, which is why I am writing this short piece, hoping that you will support my scouts through the online portal.
To give you the full "experience" of buying Popcorn, here's the sales pitch (I fully understand that I am not nearly as cute as a 1st grader with no front teeth asking if you'll buy something, but I'm Doing My Best (cub scout motto)).
"Hello, I am Gary DeHart. My boys are in Scouts and love to do scouting things. Would you like to buy some popcorn to help them keep doing fun things like hiking, canoeing, volunteering, biking, camping, rafting and generally learning how to "Be Prepared" in life? If you don't like popcorn we gladly accept donations or you can buy some to send to the troops. Would you help support scouting?"
If so, you can do it all online by clicking here.
Thank you for your support and thank you for being an Intuitive Accountant.
